If your selected domain name is available, you can register it. Note: .com.au requires that you have an ABN (Australian Business Number) which can be registered for free through the Australian Business Register.

What is web hosting? Once you have registered a domain name, your website has to be placed somewhere on the Internet. Your website is usually a collection of files that are linked together in an intuitive manner. These files need to be stored on a remote computer, or web server, that is never turned off. The hosting company is responsible for that server, making sure that there is electricity (eco-friendly in our case), internet connection, maintaining physical components.
